Mahjong had already become a constant: a source of focus, connection, and quiet joy. Yet the game itself felt out of step with the lifestyle surrounding it. Traditional sets were heavy, bulky, and confined indoors—objects meant to stay put, not to move with you. They didn’t reflect the ease of coastal living, where everything feels lighter, more fluid, more open.
So, we reimagined it.
That’s Mahj was created to bring Mahjonginto modern life—tiles designed to travel, to float, and to be played wherever gatherings happen.

Christy's husband, Rob, grew up playing with his mom, learning strategy, patience, and the art of slowing down. Its resurgence carried with it a familiar sense of nostalgia and community—moments shaped by shared time rather than urgency.
